One prize, one winner. When this competition closes, a ticket is picked at random and we keep drawing until we find a winner.

£50 site credit to use on any of our competitions across the entire website.
Buy one or more tickets above, or enter free by post - both have exactly the same chance of winning. You can hold up to the per-person limit shown for this competition.
Yes. There is always a free postal route with the same odds as a paid entry - no purchase is ever necessary. See the "Free entry" tab for how.
The winner is drawn once entries close on Thursday at 8:30pm.
The prize is described under the "About" tab. A guaranteed winner is drawn every time.
You don't pick it, and it isn't handed out in order. Your number comes from a secret shuffle that is locked in when the competition opens, before any ticket is sold, so nobody can predict or target a number. We publish a fingerprint of the shuffle key up front, and reveal the key itself once the competition ends, so anyone can re-run the shuffle and check every number.
Two separate things keep it fair, and both can be checked. How you get your number is one (see above); how the winner is picked is the other. The winner is drawn automatically once entries close, using a commit-reveal process plus a public randomness beacon (drand) whose value doesn't exist until after entries close. Anyone can re-run the maths and reproduce the exact winning ticket from the published evidence. Every entry is timestamped, winners are published on our Winners page, and every published draw has a "Verify this draw" link.

How the draw works

Automated draw

When entries close, the winner is selected automatically by a cryptographically secure random number generator. The result can't be predicted or influenced, the winning ticket is logged, and the winner is emailed straight away.

This draw is independently verifiable. Before entries close we publish a commitment (a fingerprint of a secret random value). After entries close, the winner is drawn from that value together with a public randomness beacon (drand), and we reveal both - so anyone can re-run the maths and check the winning ticket for themselves. Commitment: ccac84c76949e24a3aadcbf59dee4af287a0ac739d671851607000f78c7e4ad4.

How your ticket number is checkable

Ticket numbers aren't handed out in order: each one is produced by a secret shuffle that was locked in when this competition opened, before any ticket sold, so nobody can predict or target a number. We publish a fingerprint of that shuffle key now, and reveal the key itself once the competition ends, so anyone can then re-run the shuffle and confirm the numbers were genuine and never tampered with. Fingerprint: 5fc0d7d4eb6467584d80954b7cb8f9d8c2c057dd2cb4eeaf3b0dc7fd6d852bbd

Every entry is timestamped and independently verifiable, and winners are published on our Winners page. Read how our draws, technology and security work.
